Compression garments for lymphoedema

Metro South Health provides compression garments for eligible patients with lymphoedema..

Eligible patients with lymphoedema are entitled to a maximum of two garments (per affected body part) every six months. These can be prescribed by authorised public or private lymphoedema clinicians for patients who reside within the Metro South Health catchment area.


The patient must:

  • be assessed and diagnosed as having lymphoedema
  • have a clinical prescription
  • have a current medical referral (i.e. within the last 12 months)
  • be aged 16 years or over
  • be an outpatient
  • hold one of the following cards:
    • Centrelink Pensioner Card
    • Centrelink Health Care Card
  • be Medicare eligible
  • live in the Metro South Health catchment.

How to order

Therapists can follow these steps:

  1. Complete the Provision of lymphoedema compression garments: prescription/order form (DOC, 395 KB)
  2. Send the form to
  3. Once eligibility is confirmed, Metro South Health will order the garment from the relevant supplier.
  4. The garment will be delivered to you (the therapist).
  5. Once you have received the garment, please scan and email any paperwork (delivery docket or invoice) to
