Metro South Health hospitals and aged care facilities will not be accepting visitors at this time due to recent COVID-19 cases in the community. This is for the health and safety of our patients, staff and community.
Exceptions can be provided for patients in palliative care, neonatal care and Intensive Care in some circumstances. A partner and / or support person/s for a patient admitted for care related to their pregnancy is also permitted.
Thank you for your understanding while we work to keep our patients, staff and community safe from COVID-19.
In exceptional cases where visiting loved ones is permitted, you are still required to practice social distancing rules implemented by the Queensland Government.
Facilities in Metro South Health follow directions about visiting from the Prime Minister and the Chief Health Officer.
Sometimes visitors need to be restricted further to ensure patients and residents are safe. It is important to protect our patients or residents from other illnesses including influenza or other non-COVID respiratory viruses.
At these times, our staff work with patients, residents and family members so everyone knows how they can help keep patients safe.
